What is moxibustion?
Moxibustion (simplified and traditional Chinese: 灸, pinyin: jiǔ) is an oriental medicine therapy that uses the pressed root of the mugwort plant, which is shaped into a cigar called moxa. It plays an important role in the medical systems of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Tibet, Mongolia. Suppliers usually age the altamisa and grind it into powder; and practitioners burn it or further process it into flakes reminiscent of cigars.
