Dynamic Tape It's a different tool for a different job. It is made from very different materials, has completely different physical properties, and is used very differently than the rigid athletic tapes or colored kinesiology tapes you often see.

Dynamic Tape is a highly elastic tape that stretches in all directions and has very strong recoil properties. It has no rigid end point and extends much further than kinesiology tapes.

This design and the unique visco-elastic properties allow it to function like an elastic rope, acting on the body with the aim of providing a deceleration force, absorbing the load and reducing the work of injured tissues. Once the deceleration is complete, the energy is stored as elastic potential energy and then reinjected back into the system to assist movement.

In this way it can assist in the work of weak, injured or overworked muscles or can be used to change movement patterns by pulling the body in one direction or resisting it in another. This can be useful to improve technique in sports, help a child with cerebral palsy with walking, or help someone who has had a stroke.

In simple terms, it provides strong mechanical assistance to reduce work on injured tissues, support weak muscles or improve movement patterns while allowing range of motion, even when performing complex movements such as those required in sport. or work.

This is very different from the primary neurophysiological approach described by kinesiology tape, where its goal is to lift the skin to create space in order to relieve pressure on pain-sensitive structures and increase circulation.

Powerful neurophysiological and circulatory effects are seen with Dynamic Tape, however, our clinical reasoning is based on a rational evaluation of anatomy and biomechanics to determine which tissues are overloaded and what movement failures are contributing to this. Dynamic Tape is then applied to address this issue. Tissues don't fail because of pain, they fail because of load. Dynamic Tape aims to absorb load extrinsically thereby reducing the load that the body has to dissipate intrinsically.

Additionally, in many cases the pain is not yet present and if it is, it does not correlate well with the amount of tissue damage. A focus on movement, function and loading allows us to achieve effective results.
