    Tanita BC-731
The Tanita BC-731 scale is a compact body monitor with bioimpedance analysis that measures body composition by sending a safe low-frequency signal throughout the body, from the 4 electrodes at the base of the scale. This signal circulates between the fluid of the muscle tissue but encounters the resistance of the fatty tissue. This resistance, called Bioimpedance, is measured accurately and its results are contrasted based on the person's sex, height and weight to calculate the fat reading and body composition in a personalized way.

The accuracy of bioimpedance analysis depends on:
    · The number and size of the base electrodes. Four electrodes are needed to ensure maximum accuracy in body fat readings.
    · The quality of the equations. The larger the sample and the better the techniques used in the research, the more precise the equations will be. Tanita has tested more than 100,000 people of all weights, sizes, sexes and ages to ensure maximum accuracy.
    · Accuracy of weight measurement. Essential for accurate readings, this factor depends on the sturdiness of the weighing instrument and the base.
To ensure accuracy, readings should be taken naked and under constant conditions. Then the unit will automatically shut down. of hydration. If you do not undress, always remove your socks or tights and make sure your feet are clean before stepping on the scale.

Make sure you align your heels correctly with the electrodes on the scale. Don't worry if your feet are too big for the scale: accurate readings can be achieved even if your toes stick out of the scale.

It is best to take readings at the same time of day. Try to wait about three hours after getting up, eating, or exercising before taking measurements. Although readings taken under other circumstances may not have the same absolute values, they are accurate enough to determine the percentage of change, provided the readings are taken consistently. To monitor progress, compare weight and body fat percentage taken under the same conditions over a period of time.

Note: An accurate reading will not be possible if the soles of your feet are not clean, if you bend your knees, or if you are sitting.
